Identity Strategy

  • Business name- Four Paws Bed Bug Detection.  The name includes the dog aspect of the company as well as letting people know what they detect. 
  • Web site tagline- We do not think it is necessary because the name has a strong indication of what is on the site.
  • logo- The logo has a picture of the bed bug and indicates where the company is located
  • URL/domain name- www.4pawsdetection.com This URL is simpler than the one the company has currently.  We want customers to be able to remember the name of the web site.
  • Email- kelly@4paws.com, annie@4paws.com
  • Facebook- Facebook.com/fourpaws
  • Twitter- The group does not feel that four paws should have a twitter mainly because there are not many updates that people should see.  Four paws has 32 followers, facebook would be more useful for them.
  • Youtube- www.youtube.com/fourpawsbedbugdetection  On the youtube channel there should be videos of Marley to show potential customers what exactly Marley does on a day to day basis.  People do not believe that beagles can sniff out bed bugs so youtube would be a great way to show that off.
  • Linkedin- www.linkedin.com/fourpawsbedbugdetection, It will be connected with Varmint Guard as well as the trainer.  People will be able to find the company through this site.  
  • Yelp- Can show customers looking for bed bug companies in their area.
  • Angies List- Great way to have feedback to attract more business
Overall we wanted to keep the names of the web sites similar to one another so customers can easily remember everything.

Social Media Strategy

- How and why should Four Paws utilize Social Media sites as part of their site strategy?

Four paws should use social media sites as an extension of their typical website as well as for advertising. Some people especially younger feel more comfortable on a site such as facebook and consider it more reliable than a standard website. Facebook has pages for companies and organizations where information can be displayed as well as pictures and posts. If the social media site were linked in original website, a user could start at the Four Paws website go to their social media web and get more recently updated information. such as dog training pictures and other information regarding Marley and the company.  These sites should not post about specific people or give any information regarding the clienteles.  

- What should they expect to do (with the social media site) to be successful?

Most importantly they should post only information they think the client would want to see. Posts should be about the business or Marley and should not contain information that could be placed on one of their personal pages. Pictures of Training or Marley in action would give the users an idea on the process. Additionally coupons could be printed off if you mention the service to friends, which can be done discreetly.

Our Presentation

Progress Report

In order to design the webside for four paws we first needed to conduct research. We have completed a survey with 40 people as well as conducted 2 interview.
In addition to the research we have begun the website design process. We have conducted multiple card sorts in order to organize conent and have agreed upon a specific organizational structure. Additionally we have a wireframe for the homepage and content page.
